Freedom
See the beauty of the morning
Through each breath, as jagged and uneven as puzzle pieces.
Cover ground without hesitation
With smooth and fluid strides, liquid light.
Glide effortlessly past the sun-dappled ground, over cantankerous ridges
Veiled with gnarled roots and innocent-looking rocks.
Cross the happily gurgling creek, shadowed with trees casting cool patches of air,
Glistening stones ceaselessly ripple the water.
Fall, inevitably, and get back up, bound with sweat, legs crying for rest
Eyes bright and resilient and free.
